Support pets and talk to councillors at charity drive

To help the hungry animals at Cast Aways, two councillors are hosting a food drive.

Cast Aways Animal Sanctuary, together with ward councillors Martin Brown (Ward 6) and Craig Harrison (Ward 7), is inviting the community to a charity event.

According to Cast Aways director Louisa Rossouw, the councillors will host a food drive to help the sanctuary collect wet and dry pet food. The event will take place at the corner of Woodpecker and Lazaar Avenue, Helikonpark, on December 13.

Residents will also have the chance to meet the councillors.

“They can even shout at them about potholes, speed bumps, streetlights, water, or electricity – as long as they donate a bag of dog or cat food!” Louisa joked.

To make the drive a success, Louisa is appealing to the community to donate pet food or contribute towards outstanding veterinary bills.
