True Playa opens doors for gamers
True Playa helped uplift talented console gamers during the Rage Expo, where skill, determination, and community shone.
Nqobile Francesco Sibiya, founder of the True Playa platform, recently supported the winner of the Split Four Tournament in competing at the renowned Rage Expo.
The True Playa X Kasi Flare Qualifiers Tournament saw several skilled console players compete in the final Split Four Tournament.
According to Nqobile, this tournament outperformed the previous Split Three Tournament, with more participants and stronger engagement.
The winner of both the Split Two and Split Four tournaments, Valerie Uchiha, qualified to compete at the Rage Expo Mettlestate Sundowns Kasi Flare Tournament. There, he achieved a top-eight finish nationally out of 32 players from across South Africa.

Nqobile explained that the Rage Expo is one of the country’s largest gaming, technology, and pop-culture expos, showcasing competitive gaming and future-focused technology.
“The experience was highly futuristic and inspiring. At the expo, we even had the chance to meet the chairperson of Mamelodi Sundowns Football Club, which was a huge milestone for us,” he said.
He added that True Playa has helped players connect and build a community, evolving into a hybrid movement that combines gaming, technology, and fashion.
“It was a huge success. While I initiated the platform, the players themselves brought it to life through their commitment and participation. Together, we created something impactful,” Nqobile expressed.
This year, he plans to grow the platform further, motivating other competitive players and expanding it into a national initiative. True Playa was created to support local talent while promoting competition, technology, and community. Nqobile’s goal is to provide console players with opportunities to stay off the streets and be part of something that elevates their futures.
“We are focused on removing financial barriers so talent from underprivileged communities can shine,” he concluded.
