Operation Prosper will target key threats, including illegal mining, infrastructure theft and violent crime, which continue to plague parts of the district. The joint operation signals intensified collaboration between law enforcement, the military and community structures to restore law and order.
Speaking at the launch, officials emphasised the importance of a united front, noting that integrating resources and intelligence between the police and SANDF would strengthen operations on the ground.

Community policing forums and local stakeholders were encouraged to play an active role by sharing information and supporting law enforcement efforts, reinforcing that crime prevention is a shared responsibility.
The operation will be rolled out through targeted interventions, increased visibility patrols and co-ordinated action aimed at improving safety across the district.
