Cosmos Home: A safe haven for adults with special needs

The home needs residents and local organisations to get involved by visiting, volunteering or supporting fundraising efforts to help improve the lives of adults living with disabilities.

Cosmos Home in Wilbotsdal AH is calling on the community to lend a helping hand by spending time with its residents and supporting its ongoing fundraising efforts.

The facility provides care and accommodation for adults living with physical and/ or intellectual disabilities, offering them a safe and supportive environment where they can live with dignity and receive the care they need.

However, beyond meeting their daily needs, Cosmos Home is placing a strong emphasis on social interaction and community involvement – something they say makes a meaningful difference in the lives of their residents.

The home is encouraging members of the public to visit and spend time with residents, whether through casual visits, engaging in activities, or simply offering companionship.

Human connection is incredibly important. A simple visit can brighten someone’s day and make them feel valued and included,” said William Longman, deputy CEO of the home.

In addition to visits, Cosmos Home is also appealing to residents, businesses and organisations to assist with fundraising initiatives. These efforts are essential in helping the home continue providing quality care, maintain its facilities, and support various programmes for residents.

With ongoing operational costs and the need to provide specialised care, community support plays a vital role in ensuring the sustainability of the home.

Cosmos Home believes that by working together with the community, they can continue to create a nurturing environment where residents not only receive care, but also experience joy, connection and a sense of belonging.

Those interested in visiting or contributing to fundraising efforts are encouraged to reach out and become part of making a positive difference in the lives of these residents. Residents can send an email to William at williamlongman14@gmail.com.
