RHS makes its academic mark in the West Rand District
Randfontein High School has been ranked 5th among the Top 10 performing schools in the West Rand District, celebrating outstanding 2025 matric results and academic dedication.
Randfontein High School (RHS) has once again demonstrated strong academic performance after placing fifth among the Top 10 best-performing schools in the West Rand District Municipality (WRDM), based on the 2025 matric results and district rankings.
The achievement was announced at the West Rand District’s matric top achievers’ awards ceremony, held at the Rand West Banquet Hall in Westonaria, where top-performing schools were recognised for their contribution to academic excellence in the region.
The Top 10 schools in the district were announced towards the end of the ceremony, with RHS securing fifth place – a notable accomplishment that reflects the dedication of both learners and educators.
While detailed official rankings are published by the Gauteng Department of Education (GDE), RHS has consistently been recognised in recent years for its strong matric results, including high pass rates and solid bachelor pass percentages.

The school’s latest district ranking highlights the hard work of the class of 2025, as well as the ongoing support and guidance provided by its teaching staff and leadership.
Principal Valentine Dlamini attended the event to accept the award and expressed his appreciation to the educators and the matric class of 2025 for their commitment and effort.
As the school community celebrates the achievement, both educators and learners continue to set their sights on future growth. RHS’s inclusion in the district’s Top 10 reinforces its standing as one of the leading academic institutions in the West Rand.
A follow-up article detailing the awards event and highlighting top-performing learners will be published soon.
