Laerskool Westgold Primary School is celebrating an exceptional athletics season, with learners delivering outstanding performances on the track.
The school made history this year when 11 athletes qualified for the D2 Championships, a proud milestone for the school.
According to school spokesperson Mariska du Plessis, the achievements reflect the dedication and hard work of both the athletes and their coaches.
“We are incredibly proud of our athletes. Having 11 learners represent Westgold at the champs is a remarkable achievement for our school. Their commitment and determination truly paid off,” she said.

Two of the learners have now progressed even further and will represent the school at the Gauteng West Athletics Championships in March. Malik Andreas will compete in the 100m and 200m events, while Onkabetse Lebole will take part in the 80m.
