The name “Lekwe Bepe” originates from the historical traditions and oral heritage of our forebears, particularly within the greater Sekhukhune region. It serves as a historical and geographical expression honouring our heritage and acknowledging the past as a guide towards a united and prosperous future. It is not intended to promote land contestation, but rather to celebrate our shared history within a constitutional, democratic and inclusive South Africa.
