A rip-off by the two merged municipalities

With all due respect, can the newly merged Randfontein/ Westonaria Municipalities explain to us why the present owner of a property has to pay the rates owned by five previous owners of the same property, some of whom you haven’t even met?

Especially even if you reported and were told to forget about it as it it is their job to look for the previous owner.

How can one property be paid for by five owners with different account numbers? Who is not doing his job of cancelling previous owners? Now there is the threat of your property being attached?

How can we get the office of the Public Protector to intervene in this?
