Ratepayers, it’s time to stand up against municipality

Why should the ratepayers who pay their municipal accounts every month be penalised?

The article on the front page of the Herald of 7 October 2016 refers.

I would like to insist that the Randfontein ratepayers lodge an objection to the local municipality about their municipal accounts.

The wool is being pulled over our eyes, but we are not stupid. We cannot be held responsible for the amount that is owing to Eskom and for the salaries they cannot pay at the end of each month.

The R50 being charged for the prepaid meters, which all owners paid when they were installed, they say is the levy for maintenance of the prepaid meters. What maintenance?

October accounts are going to be double. Why should the ratepayers who pay their municipal accounts every month be penalised? Some drastic steps need to be taken against the municipality, and the Randfontein Council must be reported to higher authorities.

All ratepayers who agree with what I have proposed, please stand up against the municipality and fight for your rights. Do not let the municipality milk you dry.
