I’m concerned about aftercare

My children cannot take themselves home and care for themselves while I work.

I’m writing this letter, praying it reaches the right audience.

Schools are set to re-open on 1 June, which is all good and well, but who is going to fetch and care for the children of parents who have to be at work? Are the aftercare centres permitted to re-open?

We need some clarity please. We need to work to support our children and provide transport etc for our children to attend school, but I also need the support system of the aftercare centre to enable me to work. My children cannot take themselves home and care for themselves while I work.

I almost feel that the daycare and aftercare centres are being overlooked, yet they are a very essential part of day to day support for working parents.

Please Mr President, could someone provide some clarity?
