Hurry if you want to run the 2017 Comrades – organisers

CMA general manager: "The 20 000 entry cap could be reached well before 30 November."

Comrades Marathon Association (CMA) organisers say aspiring runners have to hurry if they want to compete in the 2017 event as the entry process closes on Wednesday, 30 November or as soon as the 20 000 entry cap is reached.

“There are a few more than 5 000 entries still available. The total number of processed entries now stands at nearly 15 000 since the opening of entries on 1 September 2016,” said Chris Fischer, the CMA’s general manager on Tuesday.

Chris added, “We are experiencing a flurry of calls from anxious runners enquiring about the cut-off date for entries into next year’s Comrades Marathon. November usually turns out to be a busy final month for entries.”

“The 20 000 entry cap could be reached well before 30 November. We therefore urge our runners to register to avoid the disappointment of not being part of the 92nd Comrades Marathon on Sunday, 4 June 2017.”

Entry fees for the 2017 Comrades Marathon are as follows:
• Local Entries: R 460
• Rest of Africa: R 770
• International: R2 650
