“These phenomenal women joined the program and quickly formed a like-minded group of all mothers of teenagers and babies, who were keen on learning how to swim. From being petrified of getting into the pool, they eventually overcame their fears and took on their biggest challenge of finally learning lifesaving skills. This program has had such a positive impact on the awareness of women that they need to learn how to swim and has also motivated children in joining the program.

“These women are now the driving force to make this program expand within and beyond our community,” said Rooskraans.

The program teaches adults and children water safety, water awareness, breathing control, orientation, motive skills, and floating and moving through the water.
The mothers in the program are determined not to be a statistic when it comes to drowning and are set on making sure that their children have lifesaving skills as well.

This not only allows them the knowledge of knowing how to swim but also has the physical, health, and mental benefits that come from swimming.
