Businessman sponsors Youth Day tournament
The event was well attended by members of the community as well as those from surrounding areas.
Entrepreneur Adolphus Igbokwe gave back to the community by sponsoring a group of soccer players taking part in a Youth Day soccer tournament in Zenzele.
This was for a Youth Day event that was well attended by members of the community as well as those from surrounding areas.
Speaking to the Randfontein Herald in an interview, Adolphus, who is the owner of a hotel said he partnered with the Rand West City Local Municipality’s MMC for Road, Stormwater and Transport, Dan Machaba.
“The whole purpose of the event was to celebrate the country’s history and make sure that young people focus on the positives instead of the negatives. We want to give them hope, support and also encourage them to keep playing sports and stay away from the streets,” said Adolphus, who added that four teams participated in the tournament.
The players from the different teams were sponsored with refreshments, while the winning team on the day received a trophy, soccer kits and medals.
