Sports festival has private school learners on their toes

Three private Randfontein schools went head-to-head at a netball and soccer festival recently.

Kardia House International in Randfontein were among many private schools to participate in a major netball and soccer festival held at Laerskool Rapportryer recently.

The festival started with an opening prayer before a spirit competition was held. Thereafter, athletes went head to head in their respective sporting codes.

At 08:00, Kardia House International’s senior and junior netball and soccer teams played the first match.

According to the private school’s spokesperson, Joy Kruger, matches were extremely competitive yet their athletes gave it their all.

The senior team (aged between 13 and 18) played three matches of which they won one match against Barachel Christian Academy with a score of 5–4. The junior team (aged between 11 and 12) played three matches and also won one match by scoring 7–0. The rest of the matches were won by Barachel. The primary netball team (aged between nine and 10) made up for the loss after winning two matches against Barachel and one against Grace Christian Academy.

Overall, the soccer teams won five matches out of nine and they ended one match with a draw score against Grace.
