RandMark sparks a love for running

RandMark hosted a walk/ run in celebration of Valentine's Day.

RandMark recently hosted a pre-Valentine time trial run to celebrate the month of love.

According to newly elected chairperson Karin Bezuidenhout, the event was hosted to keep the community active and spark a love for running. It was completely free for participants to enjoy, and prizes were given away at the end.

“We aimed to get the participants of all ages to engage with each other in a fun way while being outside,” she said.

Participants could choose to walk or run 2, 4, 6, 8 or even 10km for the serious runners. All the runners came wearing red to represent love.

“It was in my opinion a huge success despite the gloomy weather. We still had 30 runners and walkers who showed up and some even got a little wet due to the drizzling rain. It was a fresh and fun run/ walk around the stadium,” she said.

“It is important to be out there with the people who also have a love for running,” she concluded.
