Cold weather no match for RandMark Riders in Beast of Magalies Race

Several RandMark members braved the cold and cycled over 70km to complete the Kärcher Beast of Magalies MTB Challenge, all finishing with excellent times.

Five cyclists from RandMark recently completed the tough Kärcher Beast of Magalies Mountain Bike (MTB) 75km challenge.

One of the club’s management members and one of the cyclists, Frank Ferreira, explained that the race took place between The Cradle of Humankind and Magaliesburg, braving temperatures of -4 degrees Celsius during the early morning hours of August 2.

Frank finished the race in a time of 3 hours and 33 minutes, with Shaun van Zyl and Thinus Forbes both finishing in a time of 3 hours and 51 minutes. Malcolm Groenewald and Ruaan van der Berg followed with a time of 4 hours and 5 minutes.

“We spent long hours on the road every weekend in preparation for the challenge. Kärcher also sponsored our yellow cycling shirts,” concluded Frank.
