First Intergovernmental Games big success

Numerous government organisations came together for the Intergovernmental Games, an event designed to foster collaboration and strengthen relationships between different entities.

Numerous municipal and policing entities gathered to test their skills on the sports field.

Nomabhele Bonga, the Rand West City Local Municipality’s (RWCLM) chairperson for the Rand West Intergovernmental Games, stated the aim was to create social cohesion between the public servants from different departments. They hoped to not only bring people together but also strengthen the relationships between them, which in turn would mean serving the community better.

“The event was a resounding success. It also attracted more stakeholders who wish to join in on future sessions,” said Nomabhele.

Even though this was the first programme aimed at strengthening work relations through sport, they are already planning the next one.

“Thank you to everyone who made this event a success.”

The RWCLM was joined by members of the South African National Defence Force, the police, the Mogale City Local Municipality, the Merafong City Local Municipality, the West Rand District Municipality, the Gauteng Department of Health’s Western Corridor and Gauteng Traffic Wardens.
