Families, friends and babies take part in Mohlakeng run
To unite the church and the community, members of Mohlakeng Methodist Men's League and residents took part in an entertaining fun run.
Residents from as far as Enerdale and Eldorado Park took part in a fun run in Mohlakeng to test their physical fitness and enjoy the warm weather.
Congregants, community members and members of Mohlakeng Methodist Men’s League participated in a 5km fun run, and walkers, joggers and runners took a route along some of the main streets of the township.

It was more about camaraderie for some, who took part together as friends and families on a hot Saturday morning. Some residents even brought their babies in prams.
After the run and walk, an aerobic session led by Andrew Vusi Mathiya allowed participants to stretch after the event.

Organiser and Mohlakeng Methodist Men’s League chairperson Letlhogonolo Moiloa went on a solo run after driving the lead car.
βI felt the need to go for a run after seeing everyone finish, so I was satisfied with a time of 38 minutes and 30 seconds,β Letlhogonolo said.

βIt was so exciting to see fellow congregants coming from afar. Thanks to Andrew Mathiya and the event crew from Colossus Athletics and Aerobics Club for assisting with operational and technical support. This clearly demonstrates a strong collaboration and good working relationship between church and community,β Letlhogonolo added.
