Strong outing for Riebeeckrand runners
The Westonaria meeting gave Riebeeckrand Athletics Club athletes the chance to test themselves against top regional competition.
Young athletes from HoĆ«rskool Riebeeckrand High School’s Athletics Club showcased their endurance and determination at the Central Gauteng Athletics (CGA) Cross-Country League meeting, held at the Westonaria Sports Grounds on July 18.
The event formed part of the CGA cross-country league calendar, bringing together clubs from across the region to compete in various age groups and race distances. League 6 of the season was hosted at the Westonaria Sports Complex as athletes continued building momentum ahead of the championship stage.

Riebeeckrand’s runners rose to the challenge, competing against strong opposition on a demanding course. The event allowed them to measure their progress while gaining valuable race experience as they continue to develop their endurance and competitive skills.
Competing at this level is regarded as an important stepping stone in preparing athletes for higher-level events.

With the league season progressing, attention now turns to the upcoming CGA Club Championships, which will take place in Germiston on August 15. Athletes from the Riebeeckrand Athletics Club are already stepping up their preparations, hoping to build on their performances in Westonaria and achieve strong results at the championships.
The Westonaria meeting served as both a valuable test and a source of motivation as the young runners continue their cross-country season with determination and pride.
