The good, the bad and the ugly

Every week there is the good, the bad and the ugly.

Sharing with you all stories which made headlines could take some time, but here it is, just some of them which according to me was the most shocking.

Starting with the ugly, the Herald yet again reported on a car accident in Carletonville which left a woman dead and three others injured – This seems to be a weekly occurrence in the town near Randfontein.

Another story which grabbed attention, a man appeared in court for allegedly vandalising a local family restaurant after owners told him and friends that ‘urinating’ outside in public is unacceptable.’

The bad: Our very own municipality has come under the spotlight twice, one – being accused of unauthorised, irregular, fruitless and wasteful expenditure and 2 – there is believed to be some discrepancies in qualifications and the employment of certain individuals in political office at the municipality.

The good: The Herald can honestly say the community is a caring one after we have been swamped with events this coming Mandela Day. If it’s not a local company willing to paint a nursery school then it’s officials, councillors and residents joining hands to gather food, clothes and gifts for the needy.

At Caxton, we employ humans to generate daily fresh news, not AI intervention. Happy reading!
