Westgold crushes opponents in statement Easter festival performances

Westgold Primary’s U13 rugby boys dominated the Best of the West Festival, securing two decisive wins without conceding a single point.

The U13 rugby boys from Laerskool Westgold Primary School delivered a commanding performance at the Best of the West Easter Festival, held at Krugersdorp High School (KHS) this past long weekend, showcasing their dominance on the field.

Westgold made their intentions clear early in the tournament with a resounding 59–0 victory over Boskop Primary on April 2. From the opening whistle, the team displayed clinical finishing, structured play and relentless attacking pressure, leaving their opponents with no opportunity to settle.

They carried that momentum into their next fixture on Saturday, April 4, where they produced another emphatic performance, defeating Laerskool Florida 53–0. The result highlighted Westgold’s consistency and determination, as they once again kept their opponents scoreless while adding significantly to their points tally.

Their 53–0 win over Florida was among the standout results of the tournament’s second day, further underlining the team’s dominance throughout the competition.

Across both matches, Westgold combined solid defence with fluid attacking rugby, demonstrating excellent teamwork, discipline and skill. Their ability to control possession and convert opportunities into points proved too much for their opposition.

The festival once again brought together top schools from across the district and beyond, but it was Westgold’s young players who stood out with two commanding victories.
