RSS to host high-energy boxing night

All eyes will be on Randfontein Secondary School (RSS) tonight, March 27, for an electrifying boxing showdown.

The African Child Boxing Promotion is set to light up the West Rand tonight with an exciting fight card at Randfontein Secondary School, headlined by a provincial title clash. The tournament will kick off at 17:00 today, March 27, with the undercard fights.

In the main bout, Tshepo Mokhele will face Siphelele Myeza for the vacant Gauteng Mini Flyweight Title, in what promises to be a thrilling contest between two determined fighters eager to claim provincial honours. The matchup has already generated excitement in local boxing circles, with both fighters looking to stamp their authority in the division.

Supporting the headline fight is a strong main supporting bout featuring Zolile Miya from Gauteng taking on Njabulo Buthelezi from KwaZulu-Natal. This bout adds further excitement to an already stacked card, showcasing talent from across provinces.

On the undercard, fans can look forward to Cendric Chauke vs Lindokuhle Dlamini in a six-round fight. In the bantamweight division, Nhlangano Maluleke will battle Surprise Baloyi in a four-round contest.

The event forms part of African Child Boxing Promotion’s ongoing mission to revive and develop boxing in the West Rand, particularly in communities like Toekomsrus, which have a rich boxing heritage but have seen limited activity in recent years. Previous initiatives by the promotion have aimed to bring competitive boxing back to the area and provide opportunities for emerging fighters.

With a mix of local talent and provincial rivalries, Friday night’s event is expected to draw boxing enthusiasts and community members eager to witness the resurgence of the sport at grassroots level.

Fans are encouraged to arrive early as the action-packed evening promises high-energy bouts and a showcase of emerging boxing talent.
