Down syndrome model Victoria achieves catwalk dream

In September last year, Victoria was invited by the famous M Missoni, an Italian-based company, to be a brand promotional model preceding their show at Milan Fashion Week.

Gauteng beauty, Victoria Giuricich has been selected as one of the diversity finalists for the Top Model South Africa competition.

This prestigious event is set to take place on 27 February at Sun Arena Time Square.

Victoria (21) was born with trisomy 21, also known as Down syndrome.

“It really is so refreshing and encouraging that the modelling and fashion industries in South Africa are coming on board with the rest of the world and embracing the fact that beauty is indeed incredibly diverse,” said Victoria’s agent Lauren Winiecki.

As a model, Victoria has seen the world – from South Africa to Milan to Rome.

In September last year, Victoria was invited by the famous M Missoni, an Italian-based company, to be a brand promotional model preceding their show at Milan Fashion Week.

Shortly after her visit to Italy, she entered the Ragazza Cinema Ok Cinecitta World Pageant in Rome. She was awarded Miss Cinecitta World 2019 special award. During the pageant, she was invited on stage to show her moves with Maurizio In.

Victoria finished her formal schooling at Brescia House School in 2017. She successfully completed a six-month modelling course through The Model Academy. In 2018, she was sponsored by Empowered Versatile Enablement (EVE) to attend a garment design course with one of South Africa’s most popular clothing designers, Isabelle Lotter.

She has her sights set on becoming an international commercial and catwalk model and is currently signed to Rage Model Management.

The youngster further adores dancing and is an eager level four rhythmic gymnast, training towards competing at events such as the Special Olympics and Trisome Games in the future.

She loves drama and being on stage comes naturally to her.

“Victoria is an incredible example of someone who is working diligently and passionately towards achieving her goals and dreams in the fashion and modelling industry while embracing her diversity,” said Winiecki.
