New shop for animals
A new initiative has been launched to raise funds for neglected animals.

Make a difference in a rescued animal’s life by supporting the Tshwane SPCA’s new charity shop.
Charlotte Tiley’s brainchild came alive at the beginning of this month when she opened the new store at the animal rescue centre in Centurion.
As it is still in its baby shoes, Tiley decided to begin small. But within less than 24 hours, she had already sold eight items, which may be the beginning of a bigger dream.
Adrie Pienaar said that this initiative came at a good time. “With the financial difficulties that we at the animal rescue centre have been experiencing, the extra money that we make from the shop will go a long way,” Pienaar said on behalf of the Tshwane SPCA. She also said that the money will be used solely for the animals and the centre.
Tiley has a heart of gold and she also donated jewellery made by herself and her mother.
The other items that are being sold at the shop are second-hand books and clothing, both of which are in good condition.
The Tshwane SPCA has also decided to raise extra funds by hosting a fun day with animals.
On 20 October, Wag a Walk will take place at the Smuts House in Irene. Four-legged friends are welcome to participate in either the 1,4km or 5km route.
Registrations open at 07:00 and a lucky draw will take place at 9:30. For further information regarding the charity shop or the event, contact the Centurion office in Kruger Avenue, Lyttelton on 012-664-5644/5.
