‘Pure and perfect’ rose for Miss Earth South Africa
The new Miss Earth South Africa Rose was recently unveiled at a special naming ceremony at Ludwig’s Roses.

The rose was bred by Ludwig Taschner of Ludwig’s Roses in recognition of the work done by Miss Earth as a leadership programme for environmental education.
The fragrant, pure white rose is part of the new breed of disease-resistant roses being created.
According to Taschner, the rose, a specially developed hybrid, boasts elegant, beautifully shaped blooms. “The rose has a strong fragrance and is pure and perfect for Miss Earth South Africa,” he said.
The reigning Miss Earth 2013, Ashanti Mbanga, as well as runner-up Miss Air 2013 and local Pretoria beauty, Erin Roche, attended the naming of the Miss Earth South Africa Rose.
A special rose wall was created for the occasion and a future Miss Earth, little Miss Rosebud Maya Sani (7), also attended this celebratory event.
