Wine and music played together soft notes for charity
Wine and music set the tone for what was an evening filled with tones of warmness.

A string quartet is often compared to a bottle of wine where the cello is the bottle, the viola and second violin the wine and the first violin the label.
On Tuesday evening the South African-established string quartet, Evolution of 4, complimented the wine tasting done by Saronsberg, a wine estate in Tulbagh Valley in Western Cape.
As the name of the group implies, four artists perform in this musical group. Johanna Roos, Ané van Staden, Valery Andreev and Jessica Bailey began to string their instruments together in 2011. They have strived to perform music of the highest quality from both local and international composers.
This was a truly fantastic event, where the wine and music complimented each other perfectly.
Six different wines were displayed for tasting, from Saronsberg Brut MCC, musically depicted by Vivaldi’s Spring (Four Seasons), to Saronsberg Shiraz with a boldness and elegance that was mirrored musically in Piazolla’s Scent of a woman tango.
Saronsberg Sauvignon Blanc was embodied by the Notturno by Borodin.
The Saronsberg Provenance Shiraz is expressed through the intense Italian quintet for guitar and strings by Tedesco.
This event was held on behalf of Cansa and the funds that were raised from the wine auction were donated to Cansa.
A 1,5l Saronsberg Shiraz 2004 Maiden Vintage was sold to Leon Howell for R4 400.
Three 750ml Saronsberg Provenance Rooi 2011 and three 750ml Saronsberg Provenance Shiraz, autographed by Angus Taylor (designer of the labels), were bought by Hendus Venter for R1 400.
