Four house robbers arrested
Four suspects linked to house robberies at the Andeon smallholdings on Wednesday have been arrested and will appear in the Pretoria magistrate court on Friday.
Four suspects have been charged at the Hercules police station for house robbery after they were detained on Wednesday by the police for questioning after three burglaries were committed at the Andeon smallholdings in the early hours of Wednesday.
According to police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango the victims were asleep in their respective rooms when about five suspects armed with a firearm stormed into their rooms and robbed them of cell phones, money and wallets.
“The first victim was asleep with his girlfriend when he was attacked and robbed of his Blackberry cellphone and flowers worth R50. The second victim was asleep with his wife when he was robbed of three cellphones, R300 cash and bank cards. The third victim was robbed of his cellphone, flat-screen TV and wallet containing his identity document and bank card.”
Msimango said through good team work between the police and the community, as well as the information provided by the community, the police managed to track down the suspects.
“We first took them in for questioning on Wednesday, but they were later charged for the robberies,” Msimango said.
The suspects are expected to appear in the Pretoria Magistrate court today.
