Alleged rapists arrested
Two suspects appeared in court after police arrested them on a charge of rape.
Two suspects have recently been arrested in two separate incidents by the Hercules police on charges of rape.
Police spokesperson Captain Bonginkosi Msimango said that a man was arrested for allegedly forcing himself on his wife. “A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly forced himself on his wife without her consent. This happened during the night at Sabrix.”
Msimango said that in another incident a 20-year-old man was arrested for rape after he also allegedly forced himself on a woman who was sleeping in her uncle’s vehicle.
“The incident took place in Mahem, while the woman was waiting for her uncle. When the victim’s uncle approached the vehicle the suspect attempted to flee the scene but was later arrested,” he said.
Msimango said that in the case of rape cases they referred victims to the Pretoria Central police station for help to deal with the ordeal.
Both suspects appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s court, but the verdict of the court was unknown at the time of print.
