Police clamp down on criminal activities
Wonderboompoort police showed criminals the power of the law over the weekend.

High schools were once again in the spotlight after the police busted and arrested four pupils for being in the possession of drugs.
The Tshwane metro police arrested three pupils at a school in the north of Pretoria and the Wonderboompoort police arrested one pupil at a Moot school.
According to Warrant Officer Wanda Olivier, spokesperson for the Wonderboompoort police, six pupils out of the 24 tested positive for drugs.
Seven other suspects were also arrested for being in the possession of drugs by the Wonderboompoort police in separate incidents since last Thursday.
A 39-year-old man was arrested in Capital Park by the metro police who were assisted by Sergeant Petrus Muller from the Wonderboompoort police. The man was arrested for dealing and being in the possession of drugs.
“The officers reacted on a tip-off as to the whereabouts of the suspect and apprehended him in Capital Park. When they searched his vehicle, they found CAT in his possession,” Olivier said.
Other arrests included a suspect wanted in connection with a house break-in and theft in 2011 and a variety of drug-related cases.
The metro police, the Wonderboompoort police and members from the Capital Park and Parktown/Roseville CPF launched a clean-up operation in the mountain area last Friday.
Oliver said they would continue to safeguard the community. She also encouraged residents to connect with their local neighbourhood watch and to contact the police to report any suspicious activities.
