Two women arrested after tip-off
Two women are in police custody after a suspected stolen firearm was found in the air filter of their vehicle as well as bag of dagga.

Two women were arrested in Centurion on Wednesday after the Tshwane Metro Police found a hidden firearm and bag of dagga in their vehicle.
According to Tshwane Metro Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba the women took the vehicle for a service.
“We received a tip-off that the car had a firearm. The Special Operations reacted to the tip-off and waited for the car service to be complete before making any arrests. When the car was released, we searched the vehicle and found a CZ 75 9mm firearm and 150g of dagga,” said Tshwane Metro Police spokesperson Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba.
Two women aged 30-years and 35-years were arrested. “The driver is from Randburg and her passenger is a resident of Centurion. We confirmed that the car belongs to the driver, however, she states that her car is sometimes driven by her brother,” Mahamba said.
The two suspects are held at the Lyttelton Police Station on charges of possession of suspected stolen firearm and possession of dagga. “They are expected to appear in court soon, but we are conducting investigations to determine who the firearm is linked to. The driver is very uncooperative and we have declined for a bail application as we need to confirm all relevant information before their release,” said Mahamba.
