New opening for jewel of Pretorian cuisine
The Blue Crane restaurant situated next to the Austin Roberts bird sanctuary in Nieuw Muckleneuk has opened its doors again.
The Blue Crane restaurant in the east of Pretoria recently celebrated their grand reopening. The new owners are Johan Billman and Nico Goosen.
Originally established in 1997, the Blue Crane restaurant is situated on the lake next to the Austin Roberts bird sanctuary in Nieuw Muckleneuk.
Die Tuindwergies performed at Friday night’s event, wowing the guests at the restaurant’s opening. “It’s wonderful to be playing here tonight,” Dawie de Jager, the group’s bass player, said.
One of the guests, Leon van Zweel, was particularly excited about being part of the auspicious occasion. “My son is a shareholder in the business, so we are looking forward to the evening and the future of The Blue Crane restaurant,” Van Zweel said.
His son, Wynand, was also excited about the evening and all it entailed. “We have worked hard to have the place ready and we are very excited about the opening,” Wynand said.
One of the new features of The Blue Crane restaurant is its boma, which creates a warm, comfortable atmosphere aside from the obvious splendour of the restaurant’s interior style.
The restaurant will open its doors officially on 9 June, after more than a month’s renovations and changes.
