Fake prophets still at large
Two women were recently allegedly robbed by fake prophets in Elandspoort.

Police are still searching for a man and a woman who portrayed themselves as prophets and robbed two women in Elandspoort recently.
According to the Pretoria West police station’s spokesperson, Constable Lerato Ngomane, the two wanted suspects were armed when they robbed the women.
“The complainant told the police that the false prophets stopped her in Van der Berg Street in Elandspoort. She said that the suspects started telling her, her problems.”
Ngomane said the male suspect then pointed a firearm at the woman and her friend and asked them to get into the vehicle.
“The suspects took two cell phones, an amount of R110 and groceries worth about R250.”
The suspects then allegedly drove with the two woman to Wespark and dropped them off on the corner of Inner Crescent and Rod Street.
Police said there were no shots fired and the suspects are still on the run. A case of robbery with a firearm has been opened at the police.
Ngomane said that community members should be aware of such scams. “This takes us back to the statement of people avoiding talking to strangers.”
If there is anyone who has any information that will lead to the arrest of the two suspects, they can contact the Pretoria West police station on 012-327-4906.
