Police officer shot by boyfriend
Police have arrested a 31-year-old man after he shot his cop girlfriend in Marabastad, police said.

A police reservist is currently in hospital after she was shot in the back by her boyfriend in Marabastad, police said.
According to provincial spokesperson, Captain Tsekiso Mofokeng, the police constable reservist from the Pretoria Central police station sustained the injuries after having an argument with her boyfriend.
“The constable had an appointment with her boyfriend in Marabastad in the early hours of Wednesday morning. When she arrived at his place, the couple had a disagreement and started to argue,” said Mofokeng.
It is alleged that the boyfriend (31) then pulled out his gun and fired shots at the constable. “He pulled out his firearm and shot her once in the lower back. She is currently in a stable condition and is recovering at a local hospital,” said Mofokeng.
The police have opened a case of attempted murder. “We arrested the boyfriend and he is facing charges of attempted murder. He is in police custody and is expected to appear in court soon,” Mofokeng said.
Meanwhile, a police officer from Akasia shot and killed himself after he shot his girlfriend last week. This shooting also occurred after an argument ensued between the couple.
