After a month of searching, police have found escaped Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital patient and alleged kidnapper, Ray Pahlo (44), on Thursday morning after he escaped from Kalafong Hospital while receiving treatment in May earlier this year.
According to police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Dave Miller, Pahlo has returned to the psychiatric hospital. “We can confirm that he has been rearrested and is back in the custody of Weskoppies Psychiatric Hospital,” he said.
Pahlo is allegedly awaiting trial and receiving psychiatric treatment after he allegedly kidnapped his biological daughter, Pura Pahlo (9), from her foster parents outside the Waterkloof Primary School in 2012.
Evan Andreou, Pura’s foster father, says he received a call on Thursday morning, stating that Pahlo was found in Midrand. “It is believed he was found somewhere near the Boulders Shopping Centre. We are very relieved as the last month was a very stressful time for everyone. We were constantly wondering if he is around the corner. We are very happy that we at least know he is not wondering around in the streets,” he said.
