Iron fist of metro police slams down

The Tshwane metro police are hot on the trail of drug dealers in Pretoria.

Another drug dealer in the Moot bit the dust after the Tshwane metro police rained down all hell on him.

According to Senior Superintendent Isaac Mahamba, spokesperson for the metro police, the police followed up on new information regarding drug dealers who are active in the Moot area. The police traced two suspects to an auto dealer shop in the Moot.

When the police approached the two suspects, one fled on foot and the other in a vehicle that was parked at the shop.

Mahamba said that the suspect who fled in the vehicle tried to run over their metro police officers. They gave chase and finally apprehended the suspect on the corner of Franzina Street and Mansfield Avenue in Eloffsdal.

“During the chase the suspect tried to throw the evidence out of his vehicle. Thankfully, he did not manage to get far before the police managed to detain him,” Mahamba said.

He said they arrested the man for the possession of drugs and attempted murder. He was taken to the Wonderboompoort police station for detainment.

Mahamba said that they are still following up on information that might lead to the arrests of more drug dealers in Pretoria.

In a related incident, the metro police arrested another two suspected drug dealers at the beginning of June when they apprehended them in a high-speed chase which ended at the Stormvoël Plaza.

They found eight suspected stolen cell phones in their possession and heroine with a street value of R12 000.

The police suspects that some of the drug dealers who have been arrested are part of a distribution chain that provides drugs to the rest of Pretoria.
