ADT guard arrests two burglars

Two burglars were in Pretoria Gardens on Thursday by and ADT security guard.

Two suspects were arrested during a house burglary in Pretoria Gardens on Thursday afternoon.

Hercules police spokesperson, Captain Bonginkosi Msimango, said the two suspects aged 20 and 26 were apprehended by an ADT security guard.

“According to the available information, the ADT security guard went to the house to check what was happening at the house.”

Msimango said that on the security guard’s arrival at the house he found the two suspects ransacking the house.

“The security guard apprehended the suspects and handed them over to the police,” Msimango said.

He added that there was nobody at the house at the time of the burglary.

The suspects will be in police custody for the weekend and will appear in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday facing a charge of house burglary.

Msimango appealed to the community to be on the lookout for any suspicious people in their neighbourhood and report them to the police immediately.

“Neighbours must know each other and assist each other by looking after each other’s property when one of them is away, and if they notice any suspicious activities, they must alert the police, CPF and/or security company.”
