Screwdriver attackers still at large

Two suspects are still at large after they attacked a 40-year-old woman in Clubview with a screwdriver.

Police are still searching for two suspects who recently attacked a woman with a screwdriver in her home in Clubview. According to police spokesperson, Captain Bonginkosi Msimango, the two suspects entered the house on Oxford Road in broad daylight and attacked the woman.

Msimango said the victim, who is 40 years old, was heard screaming by her brother who was upstairs at the time. “The brother could hear something was wrong as he heard her screaming. Ashe went downstairs to check, he found the suspects have forced the door open and was attacking his sister with a screwdriver,” Msimango explained.

The brother then went back upstairs to fetch his firearm and fired several shots whereafter the culprits fled the scene. It has been reported that the suspects fled the scene in a white VW Caddy.

Msimango said bloodstains were found on the ground but could not confirm if the suspects might have been wounded or not. Msimango could also not confirm if the victim was injured or not.

Police are investigating a case of house robbery and anyone who might have information that can lead to the arrest of the suspects can contact the Wierdabrug police station.
