Freedom Park CEO still under investigation
Freedom Park CEO, Fana Jiyane, has been on suspension for more than two months pending an investigation following an allegation of misconduct.
Freedom Park said there were no news update yet regarding its suspended CEO, Fana Jiyane.
Jiyane has been on full-pay suspension for two months pending an investigation on misconduct allegations.
The park’s head of public participation, Khorommbi Matibe, said Jiyane had been investigated for several allegations of nepotism.
Although he promised the Rekord that the park’s council would issue a statement before the end of the second week of May regarding Jiyane’s suspension, the statement did not come forth.
According to Matibe, who is also the acting public relations officer at the park after the contract of the former public relations officer, Elsa Daniels, ended at the end of May, he was not in possession of the statement yet. “The statement is ready but it is still with the council. I will ask for it on Wednesday,” Matibe said.
Jiyane is investigated for the second time while heading Freedom Park.
City Press reported that Jiyane had been accused of sexually harassing and victimising Peggy Dube – a former colleague. Later, more allegations surfaced, accusing him of tender irregularities and nepotism.
The first investigation was conducted late last year. However, he was acquitted.
Jiyane could not be reached for comments.
