Rooihuiskraal left in the dark
The metro is confident that power will be restored in Rooihuiskraal by no later than midnight tonight, if not earlier.
The power in Rooihuiskraal will possibly be restored by midnight tonight.
According to Lindela Mashigo, spokesperson for the Tshwane metro, the power failure was caused by three feeder cable faults.
”The Tshwane depot and test section is currently on site busy attending to the faults. It is anticipated that electricity should be restored by midnight,” he said.
He requested residents to continually report power failures so that the metro can become aware of power problems in the area.
They can report power failures by sending an SMS with the word ‘POWER’ followed by their account number to 082-612-0333 or 44676.
Mashigo also advised residents ”to treat all electrical points as live. Switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.”
