Silverton, Silvertondale left in the dark
A power outage in Silverton and Silvertondale is expected to be restored by midnight.

Residents of Silverton and Silvertondale are expected to spend Monday evening without electricity until midnight, Tshwane metro said.
Spokesperson Lindela Mashingo said the outage was caused by vandalism and the theft of feeder cables.
“The City’s depot and test section are currently on site busy with the repair works and it is anticipated that electricity should be restored by midnight,” Mashingo said by mid-afternoon.
“The City apologises for the inconvenience caused.”
Affected customers were urged to report power failures by sending an sms with the word ‘power’ followed by their account number to 082-612-0333 or 44676.
Residents could also report a power failure to 012-358-9999, choosing the electricity option or 080 -111-556.
Consumers should switch off all non-essential appliances to help relieve the load on the electrical network. Consumers were advised to treat all electrical points as live.
