Power in Valhalla will be restored at midnight after residents were left in darkness on Wednesday, the Tshwane metro council said.
The power outage is due to the burning of tailings of a transformer on Tuesday night.
“Technicians are currently on site busy with repair work. It is anticipated that electricity should be restored by midnight,” said the council.
Affected areas including Constantia Street and Godiva Street. Residents are advised to treat all electrical points as live and to switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.
“Affected customers are urged to report power failures by sending an SMS with the word POWER followed by your account number to 082 612 0333 or 44676. Or report a power failure to 012 358 9999, choosing the electricity option or 080 1111 556,” the council said.
