Police pounce on terrorising man

The police in Ga-Rankuwa pounced on the suspect that has been terrorising people in the area and found several goods that are believed to have been stolen.

A 23-year-old man from Ga-Rankuwa Zone 20, who has been terrorising the residents through a series of house break-ins and thefts, was arrested on Tuesday morning, Warrant-Officer Matthews Nkoadi said.

The police pounced on the man while he was asleep in his home. They found several goods that are believed to have been stolen. “After the suspect was identified by some of the victims, police followed the information and the suspect was eventually arrested at his home in possession of most of the stolen goods,” he said. Nkoadi said the man conducted most of his criminal activities in Zone 1.

Nkoadi said the man was identified on numerous occasions by some of the victims.

Police found missing items including a DVD player, multi-choice decoder, amplifier, cell-phones, wallets containing bank cards and remote controls.

“There are a couple of victims that suffered house break-ins that are linked to the suspect. Some of the goods mentioned, including a truck battery, was found at the suspects’ residence. He also admitted to have committed all the break-ins and he was arrested,” said Nkoadi.

The suspect will appear in the Ga-Rankuwa Magistrate Court on charges of theft and house break-ins.
