4X4 crashes into corporate park
A pick-up is wrecked after it crashed in Irene.
A white Toyota Hilux 4X4 pick-up crashed into the Route 21 Corporate Park in Nelmapius Road in Irene in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
According to Mark Beneke of Xstream tow-in services, who was at the scene of the crash, says the accident occurred around 01:15. He says the driver of the Hilux claimed to have swerved out of the path of an oncoming car that was driving on the wrong side of the road. The other car simply drove on.
“The driver of the Hilux bakkie had a cut across his head, but before anybody could attend to him, he was rushed off to hospital.” says Beneke.
The total cost of the damage to the 4X4 is not known, but Beneke says he suspects that the pick-up will be written off due to the extreme damage to the front of the vehicle.
Route 21 Corporate Park was as yet unavailable for comment.
