The Mansfield Avenue intersection will be closed throughout October due to construction of the A Re Yeng bus service project, the Tshwane metro said on Wednesday.
“The A Re Yeng project is currently busy with the asphalt surfacing of the bus lanes on Mansfield Avenue. This final surfacing of the lanes will continue throughout the month of October,” said the metro.
The closure will last between two and two and a half hours per day, between 08:30 and 16:00, and will also depend on availability of asphalt from the suppliers.
“The contractor will ensure that the necessary signage is erected to warn the public of the intersection closures and of alternative routes that could be used during these closures,” said the metro.
The following intersection closures will take place as follows:
– Friday 10 October: Mansfield Avenue and Fransina Street.
– Saturday 11 October: Mansfield Avenue and Paul Kruger Street (southern intersection).
Motorists are urged to adhere to the traffic signage.
