A man was shot Wednesday afternoon by three men on Bremer Street during a hijacking, Hercules community police forum chairperson, Conrad Naude said.
“At around 16:00, the driver was approached by three men who shot him in the leg and shoulder before fleeing with his double cab bakkie,” he said.
The car was later found abandoned on the corners of Ernest and Center streets.
Cluster police spokesperson Sergeant Anne Poortman said their members are still on the scene.
“[So far] a docket of hijacking has been opened.”
Naude said this was the second hijacking in the area on Wednesday.
“Another vehicle was hijacked just after 05:00 in Dorp Street on Wednesday morning.”
