Residents of Willow Park Manor have been experiencing a power outage since Tuesday.
Lindela Mashigo, Tshwane metro spokesperson, said the power outage was caused by two cable faults that tripped a panel inside the Willows substation.
Metro technicians moved swiftly to have the electricity restored to some parts of the suburb, but some streets in Willow Park Manor and Willow Glen are still affected.
The following streets are still without power: Bush, Forest, Nora, Ouklipmuur, Sklaar, Stellanie and Vivian streets and residents on the Donkerhoek line are also affected.
“The depot and switching section is attending to the problem and the power will be restored during the course of the day,” Mashigo said.
He apologised for the inconvenience caused.
Affected customers are urged to report power failures by SMS. SMS the word ‘power’ followed by your account number to 082-612-0333 or 44676. You can also report a power failure to 012-358-9999 (choose the electricity option) or 080-1111-556.
Consumers are advised to treat all electrical points as live.
Switch off all non-essential appliances to assist with the load on the electrical network.
