Various parts of Centurion were on Thursday morning at 09:00 still without water after two water pipes burst, affecting parts of Rooihuiskraal, Valhalla, Wierda Park and Amberfields.
Ward 66 councillor, Ina Strydom said a water pipe initially burst on Wednesday morning in Valhalla and was attended to that night. However, it burst again on Thursday morning.
“They are currently working on the reservoir in Valhalla. What is upsetting is that neither me nor my residents were notified of the water shortage. The Tshwane metro can’t give me a date or time when it will be restored,” she said.
Marietha Aucamp, Ward 67 councillor said Amberfields, Rooihuiskraal North and Weirda Park Ext 2 are also affected by a burst water pipe in Wierda Glen.
“The bulk water line was switched on and caused a water pipe to burst. It affected very large areas in my ward. We believe the water will be restored later today,” she told Rekord.
