The sheriff of Centurion East and his two helpers were stabbed while performing their duties in Die Hoewes on Thursday morning.
Hannes du Buisson, chairperson of the Wierdabrug Sector 3 Community Policing Forum (CPF), said according to an eyewitness, the three men were stabbed by a disgruntled resident at the Parkland complex in Wren Street.
“The men attempted to change the locks of a house in terms of a court order against the resident, when they were attacked and stabbed,” Du Buisson said.
The sheriff was stabbed in the upper body. The injuries of the helpers could not be confirmed.
The men were taken to hospital and were in a stable condition on Saturday.
Police could not yet confirm if anyone had been arrested.
