Hijacked truck found in Centurion
Security firm and the Olievenhoutbosch police arrested six people and recovered two trucks early on Monday morning.
A hijacked truck and second one containing stolen goods were found in in the Mnandi area in Centurion this week by Olievenhoutbosch police and a security company.
Theo Petzer, Monitor Net operations manager, said information about the hijacked Kellogg’s truck was received at around 07:30. The driver of the vehicle earlier reported the hijacking to the police.
“Monitor Net reaction officer Nico Chrisostomou rushed to the scene and found the hijacked truck driving around in the area,” Petzer said. “He pushed the truck off the road and forced the occupants out of the vehicle.”
Chrisostomou arrested two men on the scene. The Olievenhoutbosch police arrived within minutes and four other men found with another truck containing stolen goods were arrested.
According to Petzer, the Kellogg’s truck was from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal.
It was not immediately clear whether the second truck containing the stolen goods had also been hijacked.
