A 28-year-old woman was shot and wounded on Wednesday evening when four men confronted her and her husband with a firearm while they waited for the gate of their residential complex to open.
The armed men demanded money from them, police said.
According to Moot police spokesperson Lieutenant Linda Jerling the woman and her husband arrived at their complex in Wonderboom South at around 19:20.
“While they were waiting for the remote gate to open a vehicle parked behind them. The four armed robbers got out of the vehicle and took the woman’s handbag, car keys and a cellphone and fled,” said Jerling.
Initially the victim did not even know she had been shot.
However, shortly after the woman complained about pain and on inspection it was discovered that she had been shot under her right arm.
The woman was taken to hospital.
Cases of armed robbery and attempted murder were opened.
No arrests have yet been made.
